Each QuickMX temporary inbox is valid for 3 hours by default. This guide explains the countdown, extensions, the 24-hour maximum, and what expiration means in practice.
Extend when needed
Add 3 hours while the address is still active, so you do not need to switch addresses just because an email is delayed.
Up to 24 hours
The total lifetime is measured from creation. Once the limit is reached, the address cannot be extended further.
Expired means gone
An expired address should not be used for account recovery, and we do not promise to reassign it to the original user.
When does the countdown start?
The service records the expiration time as soon as the address is successfully created. The countdown on the page only displays the time remaining. Refreshing the page does not reset the lifetime; while your browser-held credentials remain valid, the same mailbox will be restored.
When is it worth extending?
Extend the current mailbox when the sender has confirmed submission but the email queue may be delayed. If a website explicitly blocks disposable email domains, extending the lifetime will not change its policy; use a regular email address or a forwarding alias instead.
What happens after expiration?
When the countdown reaches zero, the current inbox credentials stop working, and the page can no longer retrieve old messages. Read verification codes and copy any necessary information before expiration; do not rely on old links to preserve message content indefinitely.
Why is there a 24-hour limit?
A clear limit keeps disposable addresses short-lived and reduces abandoned mail and long-term misuse. When you need to stay reachable for weeks or months, a forwarding alias is the right tool.
